School and random thoughts.

I forgot to mention I went to Dave Matthews Band Concert in July! Holy shit, it was amazing! My lil sis went with some friends and ended up being late for the concert. She came into Satellite which was around song #4. Anyways I drove by myself and took N. Tryon all the way up. Apparently so does every other DMB fan lol. It was Fing hot and I made sure to buy a water bottle. I loved my seat and I took some pics which you can find on my Facebook page. It's open to the public so everyone should be able to see them.

Also, I started school, ugh. Well, I like my History of NC class and my Photography class too! My Math one is ok and so are the computer ones.

Allergies have started to ack up. Probably due to the weather change or its a cold and my immune system getting used to being with icky kids lol

Also, I found another Wicked fan who lives in NC! I was looking at pictures of Anne Brummel and saw her with Anne and clicked on it. It linked me to her blog and apparently this girl has been to like 4 Wicked shows lol I found her on FB and wrote her a quick message telling her who I was and she accepted my invite and we talked for a bit. She was at the same Charlotte show that I was at and even to Witches Night Out. Hopefully, I can meet her one day at a future Wicked show hehe.

Other than that, things are well.

Until next time, La Gra!

My Birthday and other stuff

So I am 24. I have survived being 23. What did I get for presents? Gift cards to Target, Barnes and Noble, and Itunes. I know some people think gift cards are cheating but to me they are easy and I get to pick what I what since I am picky. I also got a pair of jeans that don't fit (hehe) and a nice white blouse. I still need an ENO hammock (Eagles Nest Outfitters) and an XBOX 360. The XBOX 360, I am waiting on a pay back check from my older sister, then I will buy the $299 game console.

School starts next week and I might cry lol. I have always hated school. I mean hate. I liked the social aspect of school more than I did the learning. Granted, there were some cool things we learn in school, but I could care less about history and math. Science I liked. Art, was ok. Gym, I really had fun in. Religion was ok too.

I also have come to accept the fact that I am an atheist. I still go to church thinking that maybe somehow I will find my way back but I just can't believe in something that they can't see nor feel. I don't believe that the bread and wine are transformed into the actual body and blood of Christ. (that just grossed me out as a kid in 2nd grade) I have always questioned and wondered. I stand there in Church wondering how all these people can believe in something that they can't see and how we are suppose to believe in things in the Bible that happened centuries before any of us were born. So I have given up in that area.

FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE! Finally, jeez, I can't wait to see what happens this year in 2010 season of NFL. I hope the Cowboys do alright. The Panthers? We shall see. we shall see. I would bet on the Cowboys doing better than the Panthers lol.

Ok, I think that is all I have for right now.

Summer Reading List '10 con't

So I finished Wizard's First Rule and it really was different from the show. I am a 1/3 of the way into Stone of Tears and it's seriously nothing like the show. I mean the Mud People? WTF? And Scarlet the dragon? And Brophy the wolf that Kahlan was going to Confess but instead he wanted to be turned into an animal lol. I am not into the Mud People much. Sorta boring. I like the book though. It's very interesting to say the least.

FIFA Fever has arrived! US tied with England. They need to win the next two games to advance. Please let them win! LOL

That's all for now. Bye.

Wicked!

So on Sunday (30th) I saw Wicked for the very first time. I loved it! I loved the actors and I loved the music! When I got home, I bought the rest of the soundtrack from Itunes. Then today I bought special Wicked tickets to see Wicked Cast at Witches Night Off! So stocked! I can't wait!

Update!

Ok so I haven't finished The Traveler but I did start Wizard's First Rule and I am liking it very much. I am at a boring part though, the Mud People. It's over 100 pages long and I am not getting into it very much. I am half tempted to skip it but I have like 20 pages left of this boring part so I guess I will suck it up and read on.

Also Alex Sharpe of Celtic Woman is leaving. She toured for 3 yrs and had fun but misses her family and I can't blame her. Everyone is sorta freaking out but they are handling it well. I am happy for her. I can't wait for the new girl!

That's it for now :D

It's not how long it takes you, it's how you finish!

So today my niece and I did another 5K race! It was the Girls on the Run 5K. This was my 3rd 5K run! We got to Independence Park around 8am. Checked in and then we saw Molly Barker, the founder of GOTR. I was in her very first trial GOTR program way back in 1996. She remembered me and was so shocked. I have to say that this lady is my Idol. After taking a picture with her, we set off to find SP's GOTR group. I swear there were like 1,000 Girls. They wore pink and the individual T-shirts were green.

So finally we started moving to the start line around 8:50. We finally started and it was sorta hard run this race because of all of the GIRLS! There were also Dad's running too! SP got very hot and tired around the 2mile mark but we would run and walk and someone said we had mile and a half left. We kept on running and walking and then we saw the finish line up ahead! I grabbed SP's hand and we ran the last 50yrds!

I am so proud of her.

It's not how long it takes one to finish a race, it's how you finish the race that is important. That is why all GOTR races are not timed. The important thing is that they finish and feel proud of themselves. I am very proud of SP and for every girl out there this morning! This was your DAY!

Best Article on CW EVER! LOL

So today I found an article on Celtic Woman. It was very long but worth the read. Especially the part that talks about a certain fan group that most of the other fans have learned to despise due to their stalkerish ways and complaints they make against CW and their management. So there is the article http://www.independent.ie/lifestyle/well-take-manhattan-2114828.html

I loved the article. Hope you do too!

CW and PS22

Recently, CW and PS22 Chorus had gotten together and rehearsed for the Radio City Music Hall shows on the 26th. The kids were pretty cute. There is video out there of them rehearsing and the actual show. You could really tell that CW enjoyed being with the kids and the kids were just completely elated to have CW there singing along with them.

New CW website

I love the new CW site because it seems like they are doing more fan interaction and tour diaries. They are keeping us up to date as to what is going on. The Girls seem to be having fun. The Dlx cd has a special site to it and you can see more of the tour diaries. Plus, new photos and messages from the Girls.

Ok, just thought I would share that with you all.

Meet and Greet signature photos

Here are the photo signatures that Lisa and Mairead signed. Kelly, who was taking over for Rachel that night spelled my name wrong but it's ok lol

Ok first off I am a little disappointed with the show. There wasn’t fire or fireworks LOL! Just kidding ya’ll, the show was fantastic!

Nil Se'n La
Wow, I was not expecting this song to be first! It was very cool and I loved the new arrangement of it! The Girls sounded amazing. The candles were so cool. I guess they were real candles? lol

Fields of Gold
So it’s Lisa’s turn now and she go’s and grabs a mic (seemed more like she stole it from Tommy lol) I thought her mic pack went out or something since she was using the mic but I later figured out that each of the Girls were using the hand held mics. She did a great job singing this.

Coast of Galicia
Mairead comes out and this song is so much fun to see Mairead do! She had us laughing and clapping. Her expressions are so funny.

Galway Bay
So Chloe comes out and introduces Galway Bay and talks about how she hadn’t been there until recently. I went to Galway in 96’ and it’s an amazing place. She really got into this song.

Orinoco Flow
I loved the new arrangement for this song! The thunder and lightning were very cool and then the chanting of “sail away” was neat. I was so happy they kept this song!

My Lagan Love
I have to say that I wasn’t too sure of this song when I heard it on the DVD. But hearing it live and seeing Lynn sing it, I liked it! OMG, I fell in love with it! Chris Ropes, I loved it! LOL

The New Ground/ Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears
This song once again is a favorite of mine! I did miss however the Girls in their colored dresses for IoH tour and the screen in the background. They did a fantastic job though.

My Heart was Home Again
Alex introduced this song and I loved it! I love her emotion that she puts into her singing. It really showed in this song.

Granuaile's Dance
OMG this song! It totally rocked Ovens! Mairead had us laughing and clapping along! She was feeding off of our energy so she was jumping and spinning around and I was thinking “don’t fall don’t fall!” LOL!

Goodnight My Angel
Oh I love this song ever since I heard it during the IoH tour. Lisa and Lynn together were so great!

Danny Boy
I wasn’t too interested in this song when I first heard them harmonizing it a while back. But having heard it live, it was very nice!

Mo Ghile Mear
AHH, they kept this song too! OMG, I love this song so much! I was sad though that there was no picture of fire this time around lol. Mairead’s solo part towards the end was a bit different. I love it! Then towards the end, the choir came down the side and into the aisle! Wow, that was neat.

The Call
Well right before this song started, someone told me that David Downes was sitting in my row! So I look over and in the next section in the aisle is David! So this whole time, I now keep looking over to see what he is doing lol.

Amazing Grace
The bagpiper came down the center aisle and onto the stage. Tommy joined in on his pipes. Lisa began signing and then the other Girls joined in. Wow, this song was very moving. It was awesome!

Dulaman
So Lynn introduces this song and she has us laughing saying that it’s a song about two seaweed men in love. Then as Nicky and Ray are coming down with their bodhrans she says something like “and look here come my seaweed men now.” We all laughed. Lynn did a great job with this song and the poor rich man gets nothing.

You'll Be in My Heart
Alex did a great job with this and I love how Nicky came down and played. He was smiling the whole time.

Songs From the Heart
Whoa, what a cool song! I think this was a top favorite for me for the show. Lisa and Chloe were so cute and when Lynn and Alex came in, they all held hands. It was so cute.

The Moon's a Harsh Mistress
Lisa introduced this song and sang it very well. She got really into it during the line “But God I fell and I fell alone”.

When You Believe
Gosh, Chloe once again blew me away with this song! That note she hits, got a few responses from the crowd along with me!

At the Ceili
Wow, this was a song that I did not expect for them to sing! I was very happy that they kept it. The Girls were in the dresses for Nil Se’n La on the DVD.
Non C'e Piu
another favorite of mine from the DVD.

You Raise Me Up
Mairead introduces this song and I knew the show was ending. I have always loved this song and was glad it was still in the show.
Finale Mairead’s finale is the same except for the fact that instead of the Girls coming out after she finishes, she ran off stage and then flew back on and played some more! This completely threw me off since I was expecting the same finale routine as before.

Spanish Lady
So Chloe asks us if we are having a good time. We all shout. Then she said “Oh I don’t know, ARE YA HAVING A GOOD TIME!?” and we shout even louder! Then she said for this next song to sing along and dance and clap and whatever else. We are already standing and we remain standing through the whole song! Chloe and Mairead do the routine “bump” and Chloe and Lisa jump holding hands. Chloe really likes this song because she is always super hyper during it lol

Meet and Greet!
So I catch up with Mr. Peabody and we wait around for them to tell us where to go for the M&G. We find out that it’s upstairs and there is food and coffee! I am way to nervous at this point to even eat anything. So make our way up stairs and into the room. I am like last and therefore miss when they announce which girls are doing the M&G. I find out it is LISA AND MAIREAD! OMG I freaked out lol I quickly text Chris and Emily to tell them. Emily is now officially freaking out. LOL!

Then 5mins later, they come into the room and Lisa says “Hi everybody!” and Mairead follows. I wait around with Mr Peabody since we are going last. I am so nervous waiting because I can hear them talking and laughing and I am like “don’t pass out, breath breath!” LOL. Ok, so finally after the line dies down, we start toward the table. JByrd and his wife were in front of me. Rachel was not there but another lady named Kelly. Lisa is first and she says “Hi! I’m Lisa!” and extends her hand. We shake and I introduce myself as Caitlin. So basically she has no clue that I am Trouble lol I tell her that this is my first M&G and it was my prefect M&G! She smiled and then asked me how I liked the show. I told her I had been to Galway in ‘96 and she gasped and said "isn't that place pretty?" I said "It is!" I told her how I loved the fact that Chloe sings that song having been there. She said she loved that city too. She then asked me if I remember anything and I said "not much because I was 8" She laughed and said "so you probably wouldn't remember any of the pubs you went to?" and I told her that I did remember this one pub we went to and there was live music playing and it was really loud lol then she asked me if this was my first show and I said "nope this is my 4th show here!" and she looked surprised and said "wow! do you live here?" and I said "yep I live like 10mins from here" and she said "oh charlotte is a wonderful city" and I said yeah I love it" Then she thanked me for coming to the show.

Now for Mairead! We shook hands and she asked how I liked the show and I said I love it! She asked what my favorite number was and I said I loved all of them. She was like "all of them really?" I said "yes especially your finale which completely threw me off because I was thinking it would be the same as it usually is but it wasn't and I loved it!" She said "aww thanks!" Then she saw my fiddler crossing sign that Mike gave me and said "do you want me to sign that too?"and I said "sure". She signed and thanked me for coming and I thanked her for the show and signing my stuff. Ok so here is the funny part. Mr Peabody is after me and he is getting his stuff signed and he pulls out a box of Cadbury Flake’s for Mairead. She is quite surprised and says thanks and then Lisa steals it and says “and you’re on a diet” well I was still in the room watching and the whole room was laughing at that. Lisa was nice and gave it back. Whew, I am still in shock that Lisa and Mairead were at my first M&G! I was not expecting Lisa to be there since she had done the Atlanta one. I did however figure that Mairead would be there.

SftH CD!

I got my CD on Jan 26th, through Amazon. I should have ordered the DVD with them but I decided to go through Barnes and Noble. Anyways, there was the CD case and the Calendar case. The calendar is 18 months with pics from the SftH concert. Now to the CD:

The play list is as follows:
Fields of Gold
Amazing Grace
Nil Se La
My Lagan Love
When You Believe
The New Ground~Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears
The Coast of Galicia
Non Ce Piu
The Moon's a Harsh Mistress
You'll Be in My Heart
Goodnight My Angel
Galway Bay
The Lost Rose Fantasia
O, America!
The Call-Live
Finale/Mo Ghile Mear-Live

There are some songs that are different. Fields of Gold is a bit. Nil Se La does not have the drumming part, but this cool short bass part that completely threw me off when listening. It made me laugh. Also in Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears, Chloe sings all the refrain and verse in the beginning. Other than those slight changes, the CD is great! Their best so far I say. 4 stars!

Feb 18th show!

So I have tickets for the Feb 18th show. Also, a Meet and Greet ticket thanks to Mr Peabody whom I meet in the Fall 07 tour show. He had an extra one and I asked if he still had it! He did and I took the offer. I can't wait! I have never been to one but I have read about them and I am super excited! I really don't care who I get but I would love to have one of the originals. Just 1 month away from the show!

Lost a friend today.

Today, I lost a great friend. A four legged 12 year old mutt named Naya. My older sister named her after the bottled water. Naya was the best dog ever. She was great with kids. Kick ass guard dog and when you took her on walks, she'd pull you if she saw a squirrel or a cat. She was so cute as a puppy. One Christmas Eve, we came home to find that Naya who was maybe a year old had destroyed the house. She chewed on some Christmas ornaments, got into my present for her ( treats that was wrapped up lol) and some other stuff. Boy, was my sister mad at her haha. We cleaned up the mess.
That dog has been to Colorado and back and to Utah and back a few times! She was an awesome travel buddy. She would steal the front seat and sit so straight like a human lol. That dog had some miles on her. She helped my sister move like 6 times! I have lost count. Naya liked to chew as a young dog though. She chewed through several pairs of my sister's leather shoes. So you had to keep your shoes in the closet with the door shut! I remember taking her to Freedom Park once. She saw some ducks and decided to go for a swim in the stream with them! I had no choice but to let the leash go because she was going to pull me in! Thank goodness it was in the summer.
Naya made some cool friends along the way. She met Scrappy, Sasha, Marley, and some others I can't remember. Sydney and Naya didn't get along very well at first. Sydney kept bugging Naya. Finally Sydney wised up and left her alone.
Naya hated flashlights and thunderstorms. She would pant and shake. When she would be over at the house, I would sleep with her in the closest. Putting my head on her side and her panting would put me to sleep. Not the most comfortable. She loved to run and chase squirrels and cats. She liked my bunny I once had named Speedy. I took Speedy out and put him on the deck in the old house. I was holding Naya back haha! I finally managed to get Speedy back into his cage.
Naya, thanks for traveling with my sister back and forth across the US. Thanks for being a kick ass guard dog. Thanks for being so great with kids. Thanks for the memories. Now you can chase all the rabbits and cats you want and eat all the treats and run like the wind. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. I love you!
Caitlin
I walk by the shore and I hear
Hear your song come so faint and so clear
And I catch it, a breath on the wind
And I smile and I sing you a song ~Send Me a Song by Lisa Kelly
